Fishing Report June 8, 2013

Early June in Ucluelet usually brings some rain, clouds, and some good Chinook fishing! So far, though, we have had mostly dry weather and that is always nice. As the season begins, Chinook fishing has been great and we are pleased to see good numbers showing up. The Chinook have been changing spots from day to day, but that’s part of the fun of fishing! We have been fishing Long Beach bank, South Bank, the Red Can and a few different areas inside Barkley Sound, including Meares bluff.

3.5-4 inch coyotes, glow needlefish, and regular hoochies seem to do the trick for Chinook. For halibut, we have mostly been trolling, and often hooking Chinook salmon and halibut at the same time.

We are expecting very strong Chinook, Coho, and Halibut fishing throughout the summer in Ucluelet, so book now to reserve your action packed salmon and halibut adventure! Pictures below are from the past few days.
