Fishing Report: Ucluelet, B.C. September 11, 2017

Our season is close to being done here at Salmon Eye Charters and we are not taking any more bookings for 2017. Now is a great time to get your spot for 2018 if you haven’t already. We turned away many people over the summer and the ones who book early get the best spots.

Chinook salmon fishing has continued to be good in close to shore and we are seeing a few Coho show up as well. The early morning bite has been the best, but the fish have been biting in bunches at different times in the day. Anchovies and small Silver Horde spoons have been good the past month and continue to do well. The Ling cod fishing has been good all year and will get even better as September rolls on and into October. The Halibut has been closed by DFO which is a real surprise considering most estimates are that sport fisherman have not taken their quota. Please send out an email to your member of parliament and ask for accountability at DFO.

We are booking packages for next year so make sure you get you spot very soon if coming in the busy season from June - September.
