August 31, 2025 Fishing Report

The Chinook fishing is on fire. The past few days have had quick bites and there have been lots of chances There has been good fishing in both morning and afternoons at Wya and Little Beach. Normally the fish numbers really increase in close to shore mid August and boats start staying along the shore instead of heading offshore. 

Its common to troll anchovies this time of year but sometimes a spoon can be hitting them twice as quick and we have had some bites so rapid  the rods would barely touch the water and the reel would be screaming. Early morning we can use hutchies, anchovies and spoons. 

The halibut fishing hasn't been on fire with some days being pretty quick and others either taking a while or the odd day coming up empty. We haven't been running to the bank 20 miles off much though as there are larger average size closer in. 

The Lingcod fishing has been good some days and others you really have to work. We have mostly been fishing them after getting our limits of Chinook.
