Fishing Report August 14 2025 Ucluelet BC
During early August we had great fishing on Lighthouse bank continuing from July. We had some days with fish from top to bottom. Coho and Pink salmon were plentiful in the top 120 ft and down even to 150 ft.Chinook were at all depths but easier to target deeper. Halibut were being caught on the troll and on anchor but the troll seemed to produce a bit more.
Starting August 10 we started having some Chinook on the rocks and by the 12th there were Chinook being caught all the way into Barkley Sound.
This is the time of year most guides love. Bigger Chinook are close to the shore and the peak of the run should be coming through over the next 10 days but good fishing along the shore right up to the end of the month and possibly until Sept 10.
Coho are mixed in with Chinook from Outside light all the way into the shoreline and we expect there wil be pockets of Coho in many places both near shore and offshore.
Bites can happen all day. Some of the best bites last year at this time happened in the afternoon. The past week there have been good bites in both mornings and afternoons.
