Fishing Report July 25, 2026 Ucluelet BC

Waves of Chinook are coming in close to shore and there have also been some good bites offshore. Its hard to say fishing is consistent in one spot. Sometimes the inshore is the best with the largest size average fish.
Hotspots include Long Beach, Outside Light, Wya, The Red Can and Austin.
The fish in close to shore are often packed with squid in the stomachs. Fishing has been a little inconsistent and its often best to stay in one place rather than trying to jump around from spot to spot. The fish end up biting in almost all spots at some time in the day.

Halibut
Halibut fishing at the inshore spots has slowed down a bit the past week which means running out to the bank will likely be the what is needed over the next few weeks unless things change. We have had some good days and others that have been dry. From the 15th to the 20th things were going very well. It could partially be weather and fishing pressure too as the halibut don''t appear to be moving around too much right now.

Lingcod
We have been doing well on Lingcod offshore. The inshore fishing has been a little tougher but there are still some nice sized lings in close to shore as well.

Below are some pics from the past 10 days.
